11 DAYS IN FRANCE

 

 

Day 1. DEPARTURE FROM USA

Departure from USA on overnight flight to Paris.  Dinner and breakfast on board.

 

Day 2,. ARRIVAL TO FRANCE-LOURDES

After arrival in Paris transfer to Orly Airport for flight to Lourdes.  Here Our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette in 1858 near the Grotto of Massabielle.    Settle into your hotel before celebrating Mass in the world’s famous Shrine.  Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

 

Day 3.  LOURDES

Celebrate Mass at the Grotto, and walk in the footsteps of St Bernadette.  See Boly Mill where St Bernadette was born and the 'Cachot,' an abandoned prison where Bernadette's impoverished family lived. Join your prayers with those of pilgrims from around the world as you pray for the sick, drink water from the miraculous spring the Virgin directed Bernadette to located at the base of the grotto, and submerge yourself in the healing baths.   Experience Christ's love as you walk the life-sized Stations of the Cross overlooking the holy Grotto.  Kneel in the chapel built on the rocks of the Grotto in obedience to the request of the 'Immaculate Conception.' Attend the blessing of the sick and participate in nightly candlelight Rosary Processions requested by Our Lady. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

 

Day 4.  LOURDES

FREE DAY for private devotions.   Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

 

Day 5.  LOURDES-NEVERS

After Mass, drive north on a modern motorcoach to Nevers, where St. Bernadette lived for 12 years as part of the congregation of the Sister of Nevers after taking the veil in 1867.   Throughout her life she suffered and eventually died from asthma, at age 35.  Overnight in Nevers.

 

Day 6.  NEVERS-PARIS

Celebrate Mass at the convent of St. Gildard where St. Bernadette’s incorrupt body lies in a glass case.  Walk in the gardens that she walked and have time for prayer in the Lourdes Grotto replica before we depart for Paris.  Dinner and overnight in Paris

 

Day 7.  PARIS

Celebrate Mass at the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal on Rue du Bac.  After, venerate the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure whose guardian angel led her to the chapel where the Blessed Virgin displayed a vision of the miraculous medal.  Walk down the street to the Church of St. Vincent de Paul and have time to remember how this precious saint  continues his work in our lives.   After lunch, enjoy a  guided tour of this beautiful city and see the Champs Elysees,  L’Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.  Join the optional boat trip to Seine River.  Dinner and overnight in The City of Lights.

 

Day 8.  PARIS, LISIEUX, PARIS

After breakfast, we will travel northwest by motor coach to the town of Lisieux, the home of St. Therese of Lisieux whom Pope Pius X called “the Greatest Saint of Modern times.”   Her extraordinary love for God and service to humanity comes alive as you visit the Basilica Cathedral of St. Peter, and Les Buissonets, her family home.  On display are relics, clothing, and personal objects belonging to the “Little Flower.”  View the statue depicting the Blessed Virgin who smiled at St. Therese during an ecstasy before curing her illness.  Celebrate Mass in the Carmel Chapel, just as St. Therese did before her death in 1897.  Return to Paris and dinner overnight.

 

Day 10, PARIS

A FREE DAY in Paris.  Shop, rest or maybe tour The Louvre, The Orsey Museum or Sacred Heart Basilica.

 

Day 11.  PARIS-USA

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for return flight to the US
