Depart on Austrian Airlines 094  at 7:05 PM.  Dinner, movie and overnight on board.

Monday, 1 November 2021

Breakfast on board.  Arrive in Vienna at 8:45 AM.  Departure at 10:25 AM.   Arrive in Tel Aviv at 2:50 PM in Tel Aviv.   Welcome and transfer to Haifa Mount Carmel.  Check in at the Carmelite House.   Father will celebrate Mass, Dinner and overnight.

Tuesday, 2 November 2021

After breakfast, depart for the Mount of Beatitudes.  Have a little time for meditation and prayer before we go on to Capernaum, Jesus’ second hometown where he taught and healed.  Visit the Synagogue and St Peter’s House.   Drive down to Tabgha where Our Lord fed the 5,000 men with 2 loaves and 5 fishes then continue to The Primacy where he asks Peter, “Do you love me.   We’ll take a boat across  the Sea of Galilee after our included lunch.             

Finish our day at Magdala to see the town where Mary Magdalene came from.  Father will celebrate Mass in their beautiful chapel before we return to Nazareth for dinner and overnight.

Cross the street to the  Church of the Annunciation.   Pray in front of the Grotto where The Word Became FleshAfter breakfast visit the upper parish church and the  museum built over the village of NazarethStop at Joseph’s Carpenter Shop.  Walk through the town where Jesus grew up, and continue up to the Synagogue Church to read scripture and pray before walking to  Mary’s Well in the Greek Orthodox Church and then enjoy included lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, drive to the Wedding Church in Cana where Father will celebrate Mass and renew the wedding vows of our couples.  Return to Nazareth for dinner and overnight.  After dinner, experience praying the Rosary near the Grotto where Mary ‘heard The Word.’  

Thursday, 4 November 2021

After breakfast, drive up on the Golan Heights to Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus told Peter that he was The Rock on which He’d build His Church.  As we return to the Galilee, we’ll stop to view  “no-man’s-land” between Syria and Israel.

After a lunch stop, we continue up Mount Tabor where Jesus Transfigured before Peter, James and JohnFather will celebrate Mass before we return to Nazareth for dinner and overnight.

Friday, 5 November 2021

Mass in front of the Grotto of the Annunciation before breakfast and our departure  from the Galilee  heading south through the Jordan Rift to  Jericho to see the Mount of Temptations and the remains of the oldest city in the world!    Have a quick shopping stop and enjoy local fresh fruit before continuing  down to Qumran to visit the excavations of the Essene’s community and see the caves where the Dead Sea scrolls were found in 1947. Time for a lunch break before we continue up to Jerusalem , stopping in Wadi Quelt to see the Valley of the Shadow of Death from 23rd Psalm.  Continue to Jerusalem and check in for dinner and overnight.

Saturday, 6 November 2021

After breakfast, start on the Mt of Olives and walk down from the place of the Ascension to the Carmelite Convent where we remember Jesus teaching the Our Father, and continue down to Dominus Flevit where He wept over the city, and down to Gethsemane.

We’ll continue to Bethlehem and enjoy our included lunch before visiting the oldest Christian church in the world, built over the place where Our Lord was born.   We’ll then drive down to   Shepherd’s Field where Father will celebrate Mass  and also have time  to shop in one of the big Christian stores before returning to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Sunday, 7 November 2021

After breakfast, we’ll drive to Ein Karem to visit the birthplace of St. John the Baptist and then climb to the Church of the Visitation where Mary went to help her cousin Elizabeth.  Father will celebrate Mass for us here.

After lunch, continue to the Israeli Museum and see the Dead Sea Scrolls and a 1/50th scale model of the city at the time of Christ.  Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Monday, 8 November 2021

Father will celebrate Mass in the Tomb of Our Lord  of then we’ll return to our hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, drive around the city walls to the Dung Gate and enter The Old City in the Jewish Quarter and visit the Western Wall.   See many Jewish boys coming to celebrate their Bar Mitzvah here today. After, walk up onto the Temple Mount where Jesus taught and prayed; where he was presented by his parents after birth; where he was tempted by the Devil to throw himself down; and, where he was angered by the money changers.                                

Today on this Moslem property we find the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. We pass the closed Golden Gate as we leave and enter the Crusader church of St. Ann’s and the Pools of Bethesda.

In the afternoon,  walk and pray the Via Dolorosa through the streets of the Old City up to Calvary and the Holy Sepulchre.   Join the Franciscans for Benediction and then have some free time before we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Tuesday, 9 November 2021

After breakfast, we drive around the city walls once more to Mt Zion to visit Dormition Abbeywhere “Mary Slept” and the Upper Room.  Father will celebrate Mass at the Franciscan property of the Cenacle.

After lunch visit St. Peter in Gallicantu.   This is where our Lord was held by the high priest when he was arrested. Have time for prayer and meditation before walking back through the Armenian Quarter to our hotel.  Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Wednesday, 10 November 2021

After breakfast, depart for the Allenby Bridge crossing into Jordan.  After Passport Control and Customs, time to buy some Jordanian dinars as they transfer luggage to new bus and meet our Jordanian guide and driver.  Depart for Mt Nebo, where Moses looked over the Promised Land.   Father will celebrate Mass in one of the Franciscan chapels and have time for personal prayers.  We’ll have a lunch stop before continuing to Madaba where the oldest map of the Mid-East is embedded in a mosaic in the floor of the Orthodox church.  After our visit, we’ll continue to Check into our hotel by the Dead Sea.  You’ll have time to “float” or swim in one of the pools before we enjoy dinner and overnight.

After a full Jordanian breakfast, we depart South on the King’s Highway to Petra.  Enjoy a full day of exploring this Nabatean wonder.  Walk into the canyon through magnificent high walls, carved along the way more than 2,500 years ago, to the Treasury.  We’ll have photo time and personal time to continue to see all that awaits us in this fascinating place.  You might want to take a camel or donkey ride.

In the afternoon, we’ll stop by the rock (by tradition) that Moses struck to find water for the Israelites wandering in the desert, and then continue on our way back to our hotel.  Father will say Mass for us before Dinner and overnight at the Hilton Dead Sea.

After our Jordanian breakfast, we depart to the Allenby Bridge crossing back into Israel and heading up to Jerusalem.  Have FREE TIME  before Father celebrates our final Mass in the Holy Land before we enjoy our farewell dinner and prepare for departure home.
