2020 – Overnight to Lancaster, Pennsylvania

We are hopeful that our planned fun filled trip to Lancaster, PA, Amish Country for the Sight and Sound Theater will be a go.                                                   In November, we’ll be better able to make a decision based on Safety in light of Covid-19.

Planned itinerary

Thursday,  December 3, 2020   

8:00 AM          Depart from Harrison Crossing Parking Lot, near Home Depot, Fredericksburg, VA

Comfort stop on way to Lancaster

12:30 PM        Arrive at Kitchen Village with lunch on your own.

Stroll thru the 42 shops and restaurants built around the Nationally celebrated Jam and Relish Kitchen.  Sample the pepper jelly, watch fudge making, go for a horse and buggy ride.  There’s a treasure hunt of hand-carved signs, handmade quilts, Brighton leather goods, UGG boots and much more.

2:30 PM         Arrive at Sight and Sound Theater

3:00 PM         Queen Esther at Sight and Sound

The Bible comes alive in this brand new production.  Magnificent sets, special effect, live animals and the story of Esther.

Set in the opulent yet perilous Persian Empire, Queen Esther is the captivating tale of beauty and bravery.  As an ordinary young woman who enters into a new life in the palace, she must face royalty and risk.  With a crown on her head and a secret in her heart, will she find the courage to trust God’s plan and believe she is made for a time such as this?

6:15 PM        Miller’s Smorgasbord

A family-owned tradition of good food and exceptional service since 1929.  Mouthwatering American and Amish favorites are made from scratch just for you.  You’ll have time to explore the Miller’s Gift Shop and Bakery, Wenger Gallery Twin Brook Wine Shop, the Tee Parlor and their amazing 3,000 square foot Quilt Store, featuring over 1,000 Amish and Mennonite Quilted items.

7:45 PM       Check In at Amish Inn and Suites.

Overlooking the Amish farms, the atmosphere of a Bed and Breakfast with amenities of an upscale Lancaster hotel welcome you to rest.

7:30 AM       Buffet breakfast includes made-to-order omelets and waffles, baked oatmeal, bacon, sausage and all you’d expect from a first class establishment.

9:30 AM       Outlet shopping and lunch on your own.

12:30 PM     Departure home.
